FÖRDERKREIS LUFT- UND RAUMFAHRT MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN e.V.

The non-profit association is concerned with the examination and documentation of the history of aviation and space travel development in the region Mecklenburg Western-Pomerania.

Rostock was once one of the major German aircraft manufacturing cities. Names like Henkel, Arado and Bachmann are linked to the history of the region.

Already in the 1930s the Heinkel facilities grew to be the biggest industrial site in Mecklenburg. Major milestones of the Aircraft development have been reached here.

The association makes the history of flight public through publications, public events and exhibitions. The organizations aim is to establish a museum about the history of aerospace in Rostock.

Furthermore the association is connected to industry and research facilities in the area. One goal is the re-establishment of production and travels of seaplanes in Germany.
